Where Kids Eat Free

Dining out can get very expensive, especially when you have kids. Luckily, there are many family-friendly restaurants in Regina that offer Kids Eat Free (Or Almost FREE) days with purchase of adult entrees.
1.) APPLEBEE'S

Wednesdays: Kids 12 and Under Eat Free after 5pm
Applebee's has two locations in Regina: in the east end on Quance Street and in the south end by Southland Mall. On the Kids' Menu, you'll find staples like cheese pizza, chicken fingers, pasta and more, along with fun mini hamburgers and cheeseburgers. All kids' items come with choice of drink (soft drink, milk, juice) and side (salad, celery sticks, steamed broccoli, applesauce or fries). Plus, they also get a mini dessert -- chocolate mousse, hot fudge sundae, strawberry cheesecake, or ice cream.
The great thing about Applebee's is how accomodating they are to our kids. Say your child wants a plain cheeseburger with a little bit of ketchup...just ask, and they'll prepare it exactly that way--no hassles. A great help for parents with picky eaters!

5.) Wascana Centre for a natural winter beauty experience. They offer cross country ski trails, you can sled at Douglas Park hill or try outdoor skating on the lake.

Moving over to the south side of Regina is a fun experience at Montana's Cookhouse located by the Southland Mall. The experience starts when you walk in the door as the kids will be fascinated by the restaurant's log cabin theme décor, as well as a cool full-sized truck hanging from the ceiling. When ready, you'll be seated at a table covered with brown paper so that the kids can write all over the table with crayons that are provided and not get into trouble! (Get ready to play multiple games of tic-tac-toe, or let your inner artist out).
On the Kids' Menu, you'll find selections like Noodles Your Way (penne noodles with choice of sauce and garlic bread, Jr. Beef Burger (cheese is extra), Crispy Chicken Fingers, and more as well as their famous hickory smoked Pork Back Ribs. All items come with a beverage, choice of side (ranging from fries and carrot sticks, apple slices, and mashed potatoes to Southern Baked Beans and more), and a dessert (choose from 3 mini ice cream cones, a fresh-baked cookie, or 2 Dare Bear Paws soft cookies). And expect to get lollipops instead of mints at the end of your meal.
Montana's Cookhouse also has a Birthday Club for the kids 12 and under.

9.) PERKINS RESTAURANT AND BAKERY

Staying at Regina's east side, you'll find Perkin's Restaurant and Bakery located at the Holiday Inn on Prince of Wales Drive (and Victoria Avenue East). And Perkins serves breakfast all day long! All Kid Perks Meals include a drink (soft drink, milk, juice or their Fruit Burst Drinks) and their Crazy Cookies--a huge cookie that's half sugar cookie-half chocolate chip! Plus, the Kid Perks Menu is offered on two different activity sheets that will occupy the kids while they wait for their food.
Items on the Kid Perks Menu include kid favourites like chicken strips, mac & cheese, pizza, cheeseburger, corn dog and more with your choice of side (soup, fruit, salad, veggies, french fries, etc.) But if it's breakfast that your kids want, then we recommend the French Toast Tower (pieces of French toast stacked on top of one another with 2 strips of bacon) or the Rainbow Pancakes (2 large pancakes covered with colourful candy sprinkles and whipped topping, plus 2 strips of bacon). We're pretty confident that your kids will want to go back again!
Perkins also has a Kids Birthday Club that they can sign up for birthday offers in the mail.

Kids can choose from Japanese Dragon Chicken (teriyaki sauce, wok cooked chicken, served with fresh broccoli trees and rice) or Jungle Noodles (stirfry sauce, veggies, served with chow mein noodles) or Breaded Crispy Chicken (chicken served with rice and your choice of sweet & sour, lemon, plum or teriyaki sauce).
