June Family Friendly Things To Do in Regina, Sask

Summer is right around the corner, the weather is warming up and it's time to take the kids outside to some family-friendly, cool events to experience and places to go right here in the Queen City.  June features some of the best kid-friendly things to do as we wind down the school year and get ready for summer vacation.

 

 

 

 

 

1.) #JOYLAB at the SASK SCIENCE CENTRE - Get ready to feel JOY! Experience some simple, bright things to make you feel lighter. It's almost like you are living in a PIXAR movie. This is fun for the whole family and make sure to be camera ready, because you are definetly going to want to post these pics and maybe even catch a family photo together! 
 

2.)ARGYLE NORTH 2ND ANNUAL FAMILY FUN DAY - The Argyle North Community Association will be hosting it's 2nd annual Argyle North Family Fun Festival at the Community Centre (35 Davin Crescent). This event will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will include a bike rodeo, free BBQ, local businesses, youth organizations, vendor hall, exhibitors, games, raffles, prizes, show and shine and more! Even better, this event is FREE to all members of our community.

3.) BIKE ROADEO Presented by SGI - Grab your bike and come see the SGI Safety Squad at the RCMP Heritage Centre for a day full of fun! The SGI Safety Squad and the RCMP Heritage Centre will have bike and helmet inspections to make sure your bike is in tip-top shape. Then, test your skills on our safety course including challenges like intersections, hand signals, up and down, and more! We will also have safety trivia and safety presentations in the SGI Canada Theatre all day long! Don’t forget to enter for our draw for a gift certificate to use for a NEW BIKE! This event has FREE general public admission and runs from 11:00 AM -5:00 PM.
 

4.) WASCANA CENTRE - If you are looking to get outdoors and be more active, check out the Wascana Centre's Events page.  Every weekend in June, there is a walk/run for a good cause like the Walk for Lupus, Kids Run for Nature (WWF), Pets in the Park, Out in the Park, Light Up the Lake and the Western Canadian Sprints Regatta - June 8, 2019. 
 

5.) BAZAART - Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM come and experience the best of June at the MacKenzie Art Gallery. Saskatchewan's largest outdoor art and craft show & sale, showcasing handmade creations by Canadian artists and artisans. Organized by the MacKenzie Art Gallery, Bazaart is one of the Gallery's biggest annual fundraisers, attracting nearly 6,000 attendees each year in support of the MacKenzie's renowned exhibitions and public programs.
 

6.) REGINA FARMERS MARKET - The Outdoor Market for the 2019 Season is open every Wednesday and Saturday.  Market opens from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM at City Square Plaza.  Come & explore with the kids and try the FREE Kids Club activities.
 

7.) STICKS FOR BRICKS FESTIVAL & CHARITY HOCKEY TOURNAMENT - Southland Mall is excited to present Sticks for Bricks, a parking lot festival and road hockey tournament with proceeds to Carmichael Outreach Inc.
Join us for a day of entertainment for all ages.  Local vendors, pop-up shops, live music, DJ, beer gardens and some local road hockey! The festivities are free and open to everyone.
 

8.) FATHER'S DAY  - Sunday, June 16, 2019 there will be lots of great events to help celebrate Dad! See our events calendar for full details. 

9.) KIDS' CRAFT DAY AT VICTORIA SQUARE MALL - Saturday, June 15, 2019  is the Father's Day Craft in the Square.  Kids 10 years old and younger can come and decorate your own one-of-a-kind mug for dad and give it to him on Father's Day.  This event is FREE by you must register for a time slot.  Time slots are from 12 Noon - 4:00 PM.  To register, visit here.


10.) CHAPTERS INDIGO KIDS EVENTS - Come and meet Saskatchewan Children's Book Author, Melanie Larson.  There will be children's activities and reading of her newly released children’s book: “The Day I Lost My Bear In Cypress Hills; Adventures of the Barnyard Boys”. Join Melanie at Chapters Indigo Regina, Thursday June 20 from 3:30-5:30 pm. 

11.) BEAUTY AND THE BEAST AT THE GLOBE THEATRE - Begins May 22, 2019 and runs until July, 2019.  Now you can see your favourite Disney Princess, Belle and the Beast, live. Based on the Disney hit movie Beauty and the Beast, this family-friendly musical is fun for all ages. Tickets are on sale now.
 

12.) NATIONAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY - June 21, 2019 is National Indigenous Peoples Day and Government House will be recognizing this date with a blessing ceremony in the Edwardian Gardens for the planting of sacred tobacco plants, grown from seeds that were gifted to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.  A reception is to follow in the Ballroom. This event will run from 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM and is open to the public. Admission is FREE. 
 

13.) FAIR WESTCOAST AMUSEMENTS @ NORTHGATE MALL  - Wednesday,June 12, 2019 - Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 12:00 NOON to 6:00 PM. Bring the whole family and spend the day enjoying rides, games and great fair food! $40 wristbands are for purchase at the Fair Grounds. Hours are dependent on weather and customer attendance and may close earlier*

14.) CITY OF REGINA OUTDOOR POOLS + SPRAYPADS OPEN - Beginning June 13, 2019 (weather permitting) - September 2, 2019 the outdoor pool season kicks off in Regina, Saskatchewan. There are some amazing spray pads for fun in the sun for little ones and the outdoor pools will be opening too. 15.) NEW ROYAL SASKATCHEWAN MUSEUM T.REX - Bring the whole family to see Scotty, the world’s most massive T. rex.

16.) AECA SUMMER FUN DAY - Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre. This is a free, family-friendly event. Please check the facebook page for more details.

17.) SGI PRESENTS MOVIES IN THE PARK with SUMMER BASH YQR  - Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM. Hosted by The Summer Bash Team. Pre-movie activities will start at 6:00 there will be fun and games, as well as a canteen run by Dr. AE Perry School. The movie will be BUMBLEBEE the 2018 origin story of our favorite Transforming Camero!
