The Saskatchewan Science Centre is a valuable public asset making significant contributions to the social and economic well being of the community and the province. It is first and foremost a catalyst for learning, but the Science Centre also provides considerable support to the community.

They do this by extending free memberships to a large number of community-based organizations whose clients would not be able to visit the Centre due to their socio-economic circumstances. Furthermore, through their own Nexen Discovery Fund, they subsidize the visits to the Science Centre of a significant number of students and classes from community and inner-city schools.
